Begemot Studio International as an organisation does not have a pinpoint geographical location but rather is a network
that comprises loosely interrelated human rescources nodal points across the globe. Reflecting the fluid nature of its
human resources, its technological infrastructures are also globally widespread and constantly shifting.
Begemot Studio International specialises in promoting online the works of underrated but truly talented photographers
worldwide. It is a nonprofit-making organisation, and all its activities are conducted on a voluntary and noncommercial
basis. Memberships are free. Our members, however, have to satisfy a few criteria. They have to be
able to prove to us that they are in possession of:
- Manifest devotion to the spiritual art of photography
- Unusual level of commitment to inspiration and creativity
- Ability to articulate the conceptual and semantic transvisuality of their works in words
Please feel free to apply if you feel you meet these criteria.
We allow our members to engage in commercial activities, because we are so very well aware that we all of us have to pay
the bills. However, there is one thing that potential applicants might like to bear in mind. We at Begemot Studio
International, as a matter of principle, do not believe in academic qualifications (MA in fine arts, for instance) or professional
experience (exhibitions, etc) - in a word, anything to do with institutionalised conspiracies and hypocrisies. Oppoortunities
to gain public recognition of fine photographic art, we contend, should be open to everyone, anyone, who may not have
received formal education and yet may be truly talented.
We are also very much aware of the money side of things, which may put off otherwise potentially highly talented would-be
photographers. We do our best when assessing artistic merits of artworks not to take into consideration the special
effects that only expensive softwares can implement on digitalised photographic works. Sometimes, simple, free softwares
work wonders. Nor do we believe in creating fancy "websites" on which to advertise the works of our artists - that costs
money, too, and may pose an obstacle to talented and yet impoverished photographers. We maintain that, if you have a
truly artistic and critically developed mind, you would of course see that creating fancy websites to advertise artworks is a
mere clever device that has nothing to do with art per se.
We await lots of applications from all over the world.
